Madhuri Dixit
Madhuri dixit is an acclaimed Indian actress who is best recognized for her roles in the films Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Hain Koun. Her first fame was the role she played in the 1980s film Tezaab where she co-starred alongside the veteran actor Anil Koopor. The next film she appeared in was Dil where she was on screen with Aamir. Early on, as a teenager in Mumbai's middle class she started to dance. As a teen, she tried her hand at acting, but the majority of her early movies did not succeed. Then, she discovered success in Indian filmmaking and rose to the top. In the aftermath of her wedding, she took a brief break from her acting career prior to returning. She played a major role in Gulaab Gang, a film about women's struggles in India. Dixit received the film eight Filmfare Awards out of the 15 she was up for nominations. Dixit was also awarded her Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian award in India. Her name is well-known for her work in the field of social service as well.
